School Mode

School is all about learning, and technology should be a helpful tool, not a distraction! To help your child stay focused during the school day, our Xplora Kids Watches and HMD Fusion X1 Phones offer School Mode, which temporarily disables screen activity and the majority of essential features.

🕒 What does School Mode do?

Think of School Mode like a “Do Not Disturb” setting you might find on your iPhone or Android phone. It limits distractions during class time by restricting most functions of the device.

⌚ School Mode on Xplora Watches

• When School Mode is active on the watch, calls, chat messages, and other features  are disabled to help your child stay focused.
• The watch will only show the time and continue tracking steps.
• As a parent, you can still track your child’s location using the Location feature in the Xplora app.
• The SOS feature remains active, allowing your child to contact you instantly in case of an urgent situation. 

📱 School Mode on the HMD Fusion X1 Phones

Just like the Xplora watches, the HMD Fusion X1 phone silences most features during School Mode to avoid distractions. However, there are a few important differences:

• The phone remains accessible to the child, with a few essential Google apps (like Calendar or Calculator) available in the Allowed Apps list. This list can't be edited.
• The child can text or call you, the parent, but they cannot reach anyone else on their contact list.
• You, as the parent, can still call and send SMS to the phone, and locate it at any time.

How to set up School Mode You can easily set your child’s School Mode schedule through the Xplora app. Here’s how: Open School Mode in the Xplora app. Toggle the switch to the ON position to activate it. Set the start and end times for each school day and select the days you want it active. How to edit School Mode Turning off School Mode is just as easy: simply toggle the switch off. To make changes: reactivate School Mode and adjust the start/end times or the selected days as needed. ⚠️ Changes to School Mode may not sync immediately if the phone or watch isn’t online. Be sure to make updates when the device is connected to the network.
