What is domestic roaming?
Domestic roaming happens when a device connects from its own carrier's cell tower to a tower belonging to another carrier within the same country.
This typically occurs when the device is located in an area where its primary carrier has a weak signal or no service, and automatically switches to another carrier's network. Therefore, you will need to have domestic roaming enabled on your device to ensure you can use data and make calls in areas without good coverage from your carrier.
Where can I expect my watch switching to domestic roaming?
Please refer to the T-Mobile's coverage map to get an idea of where you may experience your device switching to domestic roaming mode.

My Xplora watch can’t access data and make calls
If your Xplora watch is unable to access data or make calls even though everything indicates good connection, you will need to check if domestic roaming is enabled on your device. Here’s how you do it:
- Navigate to the settings menu of your watch.
- Scroll down to Data roaming.
- Enable data roaming.
- Restart your watch through the settings of the device.
You may receive a notification on the watch saying that this might generate some costs, however there will be no extra charge, as this is an agreement made between your carrier and other networks, and it's all included in your plan.
I receive a "Please add credits" message
Domestic roaming and the "Please add credit" message are often connected. If you receive a "Please add credits" message when attempting a phone call, it's a sign that domestic roaming isn't enabled on your device and it is unable to connect to other carriers' cell towers.
If you continue experiencing issues despite having enabled roaming mode on your watch, please reach out to us, and we will investigate further.
