Is my watch waterproof?

IP ratings can be used to indicate the level of protection to which a product is protected against the intrusion of water or dust. The XGO2 watch is IP67 waterproof, which means that the watch can be used in water up to a meter deep for half an hour.

While a smartwatch with an IP67 rating can be worn while jogging in the rain or washing hands, IP ratings do not take water pressure into account. For that reason IP ratings are not indicative of a device’s ability to be used during aquatic activities. For instance, if the watch falls into water and then the child moves their arm back and forth quickly, the watch will receive much pressure and there are more chances that the water will get inside the watch. That's why we recommend taking off the Xplora watch when the child goes swimming or does other water activities. 

Laboratory tests with Xplora watches have been carried out in fresh water. That's why salt water, chlorine, soap, shampoo and other chemicals may affect the electrical components of the watches to a higher degree than fresh water.

It's also important to mention that water resistance can degrade over time, especially if the watch has been dropped or suffered any physical damage.
