Can I use my watch in another country while traveling?

All Xplora watches come with roaming mode, allowing users to use data and make calls while traveling abroad.

BEFORE TRAVELING

  • Activate your watch well in advance before traveling, as this cannot be done in roaming mode.
  • Check if your SIM carrier supports roaming. If data roaming is not included in your plan, you can consider using a local SIM-card for calls and data. The list of compatible providers for Xplora watches can be found here.
  • Be prepared for the performance of your watch to vary depending on the country you're in, as it is subject to factors like network type and coverage strength offered by each provider. Remember that the watch is limited to the frequency bands registered on each device and can only work in roaming if local providers share the same bands.

UPON ARRIVAL

  • Ensure that data roaming is active by manually switching it on from the Settings menu.
  • If you plan to use a local SIM-card, update the watch with the new phone number from the local SIM-card.
  • If the watch fails to connect to a local network automatically, restart it in an outdoor area. Then, swipe down the screen to verify if it has reached the network.
  • Most carriers' APN settings should be saved on the watch. However, if you still experience unstable internet connections, check if the watch displays correct APN settings. Save new settings if necessary.
